Nashville Marriage Retreat

Nashville, TN

Nashville didn’t dissapoint (photos below)! From beautifull rooftop dinners, to delicious food and a colorful night life, we truly enjoyed every second of our marriage retreat put together by Marriage 365. The marriage retreat focused on hope, healing and restoring what you already have! Helping you see that your union is special and one of a kind! That marriage is worth fighting for; for us, for our children and for our future generations! Some of the places we enjoyed visitiing during our breaks from the marriage retreat was Five Daughters Bakery, The Buttermilk Ranch, Wanna Spoon and The Goat! Watch the video on Instagram!

The Marriage Retreat

The retreat was unlike what I expected. Unlike most retreats where you sit for long hours at a time and listen to messages about what you’re doing wrong, this retreat made me feel engaged, connected and active.

Every message delivered was purposeful, meaningful, short and sweet! Straight to the point! Tools and resources were delivered to us in such a powerful way and then allowed us to get out of our seats and practice the tools we just learned! They engaged each couple with activities, games and testimonals and gave us plenty of breaks with snacks and water avaialable at all times. They treated us with a heartfelt musical performance and delicious food!

It was humorous, light-hearted, fun, and well balanced between learning and applying the tools. We had so much fun! It felt amazing to be surrounded by like minded couples and learn so much about marriage! Meygan + Casey and team Marriage 365 did a fabulous job, thank you! We hope to hear about the next retreat and can’t wait for an excuse to get away without kids!

Why my marriage comes first!

I might be a bit biased since I’m surrounded by couples in love every single day at Deco Ink Designs, but marriage is the most beautiful sacrament I was called to take part in! I mean wow, God entrusted me to care, feed and love my husband for the rest of my life! No pressure! Hahaha

Anniversary after anniversary, I realize just how hard is it to love and forgive myself, let alone, my husband! It’s truly a task that only God can help in.

My marriage has taught me so much about myself! It’s made me look in the mirror and ask myself, how could I have handled that better? How can I show up differently? What did I do or didn’t do that caused me to be misunderstood? Through my mistakes, my husbands mistakes and all of our trials and tribulations, I realize that marriage is about having compassion for one another. It’s about making your spouses day better even when you think they don’t deserve your love. It’s putting on the armour of light and spreading light everywhere you go!

Now, it’s easier said than done but a little tip I have is make sure you take control of who you are and truly understand that you can only control your actions. You cannot control your spouse nor your children. You’re all you have so take care of yourself! Be a role model for your children to get a hobby and make themselves a priority! To become a better you. When you choose you, you’re filling up your cup so you can pour into others and eventually pour into your spouse! Together you and your spouse can pour into your children and the love just keeps flowing through your entire household.

My happiness lies in me and me only

To be honest, when I am happy, my marriage is healthy and when my marriage is healthy, my kids are happy!! It just works. Therefore, I make a concious effort to make a better me so I can make a better marriage (Marriage 365 Mantra). I practice self care through: journalig, reading, calligrahy, bike riding, dancing, making dance tiktoks, working out, visiting the gym to sit in the sauna, calling a friend, drawing and taking baths. Once I discovered that my happiness could only come from myself, I stopped caring about the little things and placed my focused on my hapiness and healing. I show up as a better person, a better wife and a better mom!
